reefing the main/jib
SUGGESTED BY (leo vladimirsky): this would be weather dependent, of course, but it would be great to be able to maximize trim by using reef points
Reefing is available in the Globe Beta, however the boat does not react sufficiently during high winds to make it essential to reef. We need more realistic HEELING motion as well was fore/aft motion in order for reefing to become necessary.
Just as important for sailing races, is learning to sail safely in real conditions that start to border on bad. Higher winds, too much boat heel, larger waves. Leaning when to reef, and how to reef, is part of the sailing skills that would be ideal to learn (safely) in a simulation rather than real world dangerous situations..!
