Globe: Provide electric motor
There’s are condition on cruise (when not actually racing of course) when it would be useful to have Uma’s electric motor to be able to maneuver in close quarters or when headed badly.

Possible idea, it is has and you have to refill it at port which stops people from over using it.
These days an electric motor is more viable given that Uma has solar panels and can recharge batteries. Access to sunlight data would enable the app to determine how much recharge the batteries will gain during a day and thus how much is available for manouvering
Hi Greg. The ongoing development of MarineVerse is impressive, progressively bringing real-life sailing into VR. The addition of visual land masses and ports has greatly enhanced immersion. However, navigating inland waters and ports remains challenging due to wind conditions, often making sail-only passage impossible. Adding an inboard motor would be a crucial improvement, enabling realistic port navigation and movement when the wind is calm. An onboard motor is essential for a genuine yachting experience, and its inclusion would significantly enhance gameplay realism. Looking forward to this development. Thanks, David Edwick.
Following up form discord, there is the potential for a whole mini game here, where one needs to manage the battery level , via solar panels or maybe even hydro power. And as per discord it would be sweet to have a graph of battery level etc or the data in the NMEA stream to do analytics
Absolutely agree, especially when there is no wind and you need to make headway to port. No fun being stuck in the same position for days on end. I'd like to set a course with the electric motor on so I can make headway to a port of call, or use the motor to navigate into a tricky harbor.
