MarineVerse Kayaking

MarineVerse Sailing Club

Replace the current night sky with major constellation, planets and North star display only. Could serve as navigation aid and have something else to see during nighttime sailing. Maybe even add the use of a sextant to practice celestial navigation.

Night sky with constellations in globe sail

SUGGESTED BY (Thor L. Jørgensen): Boats move on water, not just side to side. It needs to Bob in front. It felt just flat.

Water mode - opt in/out for realistic boat movement

Hi, are you planning to add sailing catamaran to the boats and also for the docking training?

After adding land masses with harbors, it would be great to zoom in or out on the boat's EFB (chart). Users can teleport boats worldwide.

Globe - Teleporting and EFB

Currently Globe is single player.

https://www.marineverse.com/globe

Add ability to see other boats.

Ideally, add ability to sail together, like like multiplayer.

Perhaps add an option to invite someone else for co-op sailing.

Perhaps add an option to use radio to chat with boats far away.

Make the MarineVerse app publish NMEA 0183 messages over UDP, so that it's possible to get near real time feed in tools like OpenCPN when both the app and OpenCPN are running on the same wifi network

I would like the ability to add my custom sail numbers to my sails: e.g. CAN & ###

These two locations overlap and you can never make the Port of Lisbon.

Seperately the anchorage Lisboa and the Port of Lisbon

Please let us have the ability to rename our Globe boat(s).

I'd really like some longer races, Ones where the next mark is hardly visible if at all. Ones with big long tacked legs and maybe silly heavy winds in some regions of it. Something with an estimated running time of 30 mins or so. The sea is calling, the Vendée Globe has finished, I need my fix!!

Nice long offshore style races

Weak, Normal, Strong Wind.
Or maybe even https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaufort_scale and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_sea_scale
For example, for in A Daily Race Practice - a user could be notified about the weather forecast, and would have an option to choose sails ( or reefs )

Make it possible to go inside of the yacht.

For sailing and docking is small stopper for wheel needed. On reall boat is wheel stopper to fix the direction. For docking is also important when you use mid ship spring aft and forward thrust to keep boat in the wind pushing to pier and then you can go to the bow. Using the joystick is not comfortable.

Steering wheel stoper

SUGGESTED BY (Sean Nemeth): Add in the expectations of yielding right of way based on the sailing rules. Have penalties (360s) for not adhering to the rules or contact with other boats, etc.

RIght of way rules and penalties

Multiplayer racing

Racing is great but so is just taking a sail on a windy day. How about a free mode where you can just sail along the shore line wherever you want.

Free sailing

Docking / "park my boat" tutorial

SUGGESTED BY (John Frings): As suggested by ileeze on Discord, a cruising mode with some small islands to navigate around would be nice. Especially if the wind (and perhaps even currents) would be dynamic to some degree.

Cruise sailing mode

SUGGESTED BY (victor beauchamp): Given how many are out there it would be awesome to add a Hobie Cat so I can practice tacking on my Hobie 14 😇⛵️🙏

New (Old) Boat Hobie 14/16

There’s are condition on cruise (when not actually racing of course) when it would be useful to have Uma’s electric motor to be able to maneuver in close quarters or when headed badly.

Globe: Provide electric motor

SUGGESTED BY (Goran Madjaric): Dear Marine Universe Team,

I would like to train docking with a catamaran such as a Lagoon 50 or Fountaine Pajot 47, including anchoring and sailing maneuvers.

Can I expect these features to be included in an upcoming update?

Training Features for Catamaran Docking, Anchoring & Sailing

Firstly a way to keep track of what notable ports a boat has visited (within a grace of X miles). This could be a log book, collection of postcards, etc.

Secondly add achievements or something similar to provide goals for sailors, wayfinder (visit 50 ports), vende globe (hit X ports along the path of the race), pole to pole, trans atlantic, trans pacific, etc.

Both of these would add motivation and a sense of pride to the globe mode.

Globe - Record of Ports and Achievements for Milestones, Crossings and Race Routess

Have a phone app interface for global sailing since navigation around the globe or long-haul races require 24/7 attention from skipper and we cannot always be near our computer. Should have basic info and map as we currently have on PC but also have a dashboard to see sail trim so they can be adjusted according to wind direction as needed. Receive text messages if wind changes in speed (more than 10 knots) or wind direction changes (more than 10degrees).

Phone app for global sailing

Automatically change some elements of the boat at night. Map screen can go to a high contrast night version (green on black perhaps). Turn on boat navigation lights. Change the interaction highlight color scheme to a cool temperature palette.

Globe - Night mode for map screen, compass, navigation lights

https://www.marineverse.com/globe

Add ability to select Waypoints / destination.

Add log book with past location / conditions so we can plot the course we have taken.

Globe - Better navigation

The navigation screen, Go inside button and sails are to bright when sailing at night. It’s hard to see land due to the glare. A night mod where these things can be dimmed would be helpful.

Night mode. Dim the brightness of the navigation screen and sails at night.

The current chart is largely useless. Maybe we should have a link in the quick menu to be able to display a web browser page showing the /globe/map.

Globe - Chart Display

In the same way that wind speed and direction is imported into the app, ocean currents can be imported (probably from the same source). This would make ocean sailing a lot more realistic.

Globe - Ocean currents

Currently https://www.marineverse.com/globe is only water and simple land outlines.

Make it more realistic by adding nicer landmasses - with at least recognizable features like mountains

Globe - Add land masses

Provide the extra sail control lines.
Accurately visualise an impact of different control line settings.
Accurately simulate sailing physics in different wind strengths depending on the sail shape.

SUGGESTED BY (Roland Blais): At the Wheel station, the wheel is too close to the player. I have to look down, and hold the controller awkwardly to grab the wheel and steer. I compared the same stationary guardian with Big Breezy Boat and the position is much more comfortably back from the wheel.

Both pictures were from the same sitting position; I just switched from 1 game to the other. L - Marineverse Cup, R - Big Breezy Boat.

Can we have a spinnaker to launch on downwind runs (and retrieve

Spinnaker on BBB

SUGGESTED BY (Tom Leylan): The display of the Weekly and Monthly standings boards are limited. There appears to be no way to "scroll" when there are multiple pages. I just looked at monthly for instance and the list starts with the 3rd place (showing me at 6th) with no way to show who is in 1st and 2nd

Weekly/Monthly standings boards

The tiller extension is stuck against the tiller. Consequently, even though I'd rather steer with the tiller extension than the joystick, I am forced to use the joystick, because if I lean toward the centreline to reach the tiller, the boat heels over because I can't counter the heel angle. This is immersion breaking.
If the tiller extension worked, I could hike to windward and still steer by moving the tiller extension. This will be more natural than using a tiny joystick.

Working tiller extension

Top view ( 7 ) add "labels"

SUGGESTED BY (Kevin Osborn): I would like to receive a single email with a link or links to race results. I don’t need my inbox flooded with multiple emails daily about each individual race result.
