Harden the Ghosts so that there is interaction with the competitor and the ghosts

SUGGESTED BY (Peter Bolton): See Posts in Marineverse Cup

Treat the boats as hardened and provide for penalties should there be collisions
The post is reasonably long and detailed

This is surely the way to go. The ghosts in Regatta foul like mad but they are hard and you have to avoid them or you have lost the race. The start in MVC ghost races is sometimes daft with 4 boats sitting on top of each other, If they were hard we would each slide into a patch of water and you would be able to see which was your jib sheet! A lot of food for thought for you Greg in Katsai's suggestion could you put the whole comment here please for us to see. I applaud it and support it

Mike Hoare: just clarification - "ghost" are past players actual paths, so they can't really be altered. What can be done - is we can add "bots" ( AI boats ) - initially they would be "smart" like in VR Regatta, but over time we could make them better

Mike Hoare: It won't be possible to make "ghosts
hard between each other ( ghosts ) - but it would be possible to enable collisions between player and ghosts in the practice mode. Is that what you want? ( it may mean, this if the ghost is sailing "the best" path in that race, you won't be able to follow it as well )

Greg Dziemidowicz: My view is that any hardening is a step towards more realism which is good but the ghosts would have to be a bit smart (and veer away) and not just sail thru my boat _the start could be mayhem! Could we try it out on one of the practice races or pehaps set up a separate experiment. As for chasing a ghost sailing the best path you would have to overtake it (as in life) not sail thru it (which is good surely).

Also, @Peter Bolton what do you think it was your original idea?
