MarineVerse is partnering with the DISC Community Discord to organize the Inaugural Yacht Racing Tournament.

Try something new in 2025 with MarineVerse Sailing tournament featuring 1v1 yacht racing matches! The tournament will run from January 13-17, coinciding with our regular Sunday Fun Race and Windy Wednesday events.

About DISC

DISC is a new VR/MR sport that is currently in early access. The DISC Discord isn't just where you get early access - it's where VR/MR sports fans come together to bond and share their passion for virtual sports.

Registration:

• Deadline: Sunday, January 12, 7am UTC
• Format: Single elimination, 1v1 matches, win at least 2 races
• Open to: All MarineVerse Sailing Club players
• Registration button at the bottom of this page

Match Format:

• Win 2 races to win the match
• Yacht class only
• Course:
  • Race 1: LONG course with 1,2,3,1,3
  • Race 2: LONG course 1,2,1
  • Race 3: ( if needed ): LONG course: 1,2,3,1,3,1,3
• Multiplayer Settings: Collision with Right of Way (ROW) enabled

How to Participate:

• If you don’t have a MarineVerse Sailing Club app - install and complete onboarding to create a MarineVerse account. ( needed for this registration )
  • Use DISC-81FE89 code for 50% discount on Meta store
• Register by 12 Jan 2025.
• After registration closes, you'll be assigned to the tournament bracket.
• Connect with your opponent on DISC Discord (#tourney-scheduling) to schedule your match.
• Complete your race and report the result on Discord. (You can race 1vs1 or use fleet racing. For fleet: Report your position relative to your assigned opponent only).
• Greg@MarineVerse will update the bracket manually to advance winners.

Important Notes:

• We will use DISC Community Discord, channel #tourney-scheduling for this tournament coordination. ( results will be also shared on MarineVerse Discord )
• Each match is decided in best-of-3 format - it’s enough to win 2 races.
• Scheduling is flexible within the tournament period (Jan 13-17).
• Match results must be reported on Discord to progress in the tournament.
• 3rd place will be decided by a separate match between sailors who qualified to semi-finals, but didn’t progress to the final.
