I just realized recently that using the Quest controllers helps me race faster. I don’t really like that, preferring the feel of actually steering a tiller or wheel and handling the lines. But, to (try to) be competitive I think I have to use those joysticks. It would be nice to have a league for “no controllers” users and see what the performance difference might be (who knows – maybe I’m just making excuses for my poor showing 😉).
The navigation screen, Go inside button and sails are to bright when sailing at night. It’s hard to see land due to the glare. A night mod where these things can be dimmed would be helpful.
There’s are condition on cruise (when not actually racing of course) when it would be useful to have Uma’s electric motor to be able to maneuver in close quarters or when headed badly.
In an ideal world, users would always use a VR headset but what if they wanted to set sail on the phone; Its a bit tricky. Could there be 2 buttons in settings that could auto raise the main and jib and auto lower the sails as well?
Hi Greg. Thanks for all of this. Truly amazing. Just one thought as I sit pondering. Is there any possibility of an alarm to your prescribed mobile device if uou are going way off your desired course, or run aground. I’ve suffer from this a couple or three times and would gladly have got myself up to rectify things sooner. Many thanks again. Very appreciated for all 😊
https://www.marineverse.com/globe Ability to use a spinnaker. Ability to use a whisker pole and bigger genoa. Storm jib? Also, make it interact meaningfully with wind speeds.
Make the MarineVerse app publish NMEA 0183 messages over UDP, so that it's possible to get near real time feed in tools like OpenCPN when both the app and OpenCPN are running on the same wifi network
These two locations overlap and you can never make the Port of Lisbon.
Currently https://www.marineverse.com/globe is only water and simple land outlines. Make it more realistic by adding nicer landmasses - with at least recognizable features like mountains
I'd like to be able to look at the other boats on the horizon during a regatta A light on that front bobber thingy on the Jib. At night time I can see the top one but the bottom one is a color that too closely blends in with the background color. A little light source aimed at that circle might fix this
