Make is clearer which buoy should be rounded and in what direction
I've been in many situations where there's a message to round a buoy, but there are two or three buoys nearby. It is unclear which one to round and in which direction to round it.
Instead of placing the message next to the buoy, place it directly over the buoy, indicating which buoy to round, and which direction to round it in.
e.g. "Round buoy 1 ↶ to port"
e.g. "Round buoy 2 ↷ to starboard"
Even if in your races you round all buoys to port, that could be made clearer in the text.
Also, it would be very helpful if the buoy number were also indicated by a big black number printed on the buoy.

I have a slightly different take on this. For beginners, it makes sense to place the message where it will be easiest to find. I would second Pedro's recommendation on how to implement. For experienced sailors, especially on the Pro mode, we can take a cue from the real world where the marks are indicated before the start on the RC boat. Part of the "race" in the real world is to remember which marks to round after the start. I would enjoy having that element also in the virtual world for experienced racers as another element of the "handicap" system.
